Starlink Partners With Bangladeshi Firms To Revolutionize Internet Services.
Starlink Teams Up With Bangladeshi Companies to Launch Internet Services in Bangladesh.
March 08, 2025, Dhaka: The American company Starlink has started working with several Bangladeshi companies to provide internet service in Bangladesh. They will set up stations to help provide internet services in the country.
Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, the PM's special
assistant, confirmed this news. A team from Starlink is already in Bangladesh
and has signed agreements with Bangladeshi companies to speed up the service.
The agreements include getting land,
building the stations, and maintaining them. Starlink is considering land owned
by Bangladeshi companies and some areas in high-tech parks for the stations.
Faiz Ahmed Tayyab also mentioned that
they are still discussing where the stations will be and how the work will be
done.
Starlink will benefit rural areas,
especially in Bangladesh's north and coastal regions. It will provide fast
internet without issues like power cuts or natural disasters, and the cost will
be much lower than current internet services. That's why Starlink is seen as
the best solution. It will help businesses, freelancers, NGOs, and small
companies grow by providing reliable internet.
Starlink's official service will be
launched in Bangladesh on February 19, 2025. Elon Musk, the
CEO of SpaceX and Starlink's founder, has been invited to visit Bangladesh.
During his visit, Musk's chief
advisor, Professor Muhammad Yunus, told Musk that young people in Bangladesh
would greatly benefit from this technology.
The Chief Advisor has also asked Dr.
Khalilur Rahman to work closely with the SpaceX team to ensure Starlink
launches in Bangladesh within 90 days.
